Story-wise, I really liked this book. He has a distinct writing style. He is possible the opposite of anyone you would expect someone named Bear to look like.

These chapters are devastating to read. Just utterly devastating. Bear promises to do everything, to give up everything for Tyson so that he may never want or need for anything. The main story takes place three years after these events took place.

But so much happens in those three years that slowly gets pieced together throughout the story. Just from the title alone, you know who will end up together, but the journey there is long one.

For one, this book is fairly longer than the average romance novel. About pages longer. And this book is angst. The rest of this book? Even when you finish the book, I suggest reading a fluffy, lighthearted book before directly delving into book two.

There are lots of moments in this book where the internalized homomisia is almost unbearable to read. This is a slow burn. The absolute slowest burn.

As sad as most of the book is, there are some brilliant one-liners that made me laugh. This book is different. The characters are fleshed out and the story is raw and emotional.

I loved it, and will be reading book two, Who We Are. This has been on my to-read shelf forever! Like Like. Like Liked by 1 person. You are commenting using your WordPress. You are commenting using your Google account. You are commenting using your Twitter account.

Bear, Otter, and the Kid Series

I believed her. We have very similar tastes. It looked cute, warm and fuzzy. And considering that the potential romance is between two male leads, this was not my usual read. I did connect! I hope you will enjoy it. Its cute and funny.

Book Review – Bear, Otter, and the Kid by TJ Klune

Post a Comment Blogger likes to eat comments, so I suggest copying it before hitting "publish" just in case it doesn't go through the first time. Also, thanks for visiting! Klune or more like review of the movie Shelter. Plagiarism is a terrible thing, perhaps said borrowing of a plot and changing a couple of things here and there including names is not illegal, but to me is unethical and just plain wrong. What a shame. ETA 2: Dreamspinner Press has issued a response, which you can read it here.
