Nonetheless, the evolutionary continuity with prior editions is comforting. Even the cover is deceptively akin to that of the immediately preceding one. The book continues to encompass the seemingly cosmic expanse of neoplastic and nonneoplastic entities encountered in the routine practice of surgical pathology.

There are, however, significant and some insignificant alterations. Significant changes that augur well for the future of our discipline include an intensified focus on clinical implications of the applied molecular pathology. Regrettably, the entertainingly informative introductory chapters of the previous editions have been eliminated. For the most part, the information imparted in the latest edition is apt and the details provided are apposite.
